Hosts the
2010 AALAS District 5 Meeting |
| For
those of you that may be unaware, the Michigan branch of AALAS will be
hosting this year’s AALAS District 5 meeting at the Radisson Plaza Hotel
in Kalamazoo, MI June 2-4th. Theme for the meeting is “The Road of
Research”, in fitting with a car theme being that it is in Michigan. Our
intent is to make this meeting into a mini-National meeting. Although the
schedule is not set in stone as of yet, we are expecting to offer several
workshops and wet labs along with various presentations pertaining to
management and training, animal care and welfare, and technical functions.
On Wednesday June 2nd, there will
be a golf outing and potentially the opportunity to visit several
facilities in the Kalamazoo Area. That evening there will be an opening
night reception in the vendor area that will include cocktails and a
raffle. Throughout the day Thursday June 3rd there will presentations and
workshops at the Radisson hotel and there will be the awards banquet in
the evening at the Gilmore Car Museum. On Friday June 4th there will be
additional presentation in the morning through early afternoon.
Meeting registration costs include
breakfast and lunch on Thursday and breakfast on Friday at the Radisson as
well as dinner on Thursday at the banquet. The Radisson is offering
discount room rates through May 1st so reserve your rooms soon! Be on the
look out for registration information and a call of poster and workshop
abstracts. On behalf of the Executive Council, we hope to see many
Michigan branch members on hand as we highlight our branch and state!
